Intimate Postpartum Photography | Central Virginia
I adore postpartum bodies.
As I’m sure many can relate, I haven’t always loved or felt comfortable in my own postpartum body. It was photography that helped me start to feel familiar to myself again. The gift of reintroduction is something I want to share with all parents.
When A. reached out to me for the sole purpose of documenting and appreciating her body, my heart lit up. I had to travel outside of Charlottesville a ways to our nearish neighborhood of Fredericksburg, but when I find someone whose mission aligns with mine, magic happens and travel becomes a must.
And magic we made.
Nestled by a window in her cozy den of a room, A snuggled her baby girl, allowing truly organic moments to unfold.
During our time together I photograph from the heart (specifically, from the heart of a fellow parent). We want to memorize every tiny detail of our sweet babies--from delicate, long nails, flexible and hard to trim, to ringlets and soft, round bellies. So I do that for you.
I take those treasured details and pair them with those of your postpartum body.
Together, your beautiful story unfolds, immortalized in what I can only call art.
As a trained doula and Charlottesville’s only photographer who specializes in raw postpartum photography, I take a unique approach in my work. I understand that the postpartum space can be just as sacred as a birth space and I enter it with reverence.
